I want to thank Pauline for having me here on her blog to talk about my new book, THE AFTERLIFE OF LIZZIE MONROE and to answer three reader questions. I recently asked on facebook for any questions my readers had for me… they had a LOT! I’ve divided them up along this blog tour so hopefully by the end you’ll know all about me (well… most of me anyway) – Kelly Martin

Three Reader Questions with Kelly Martin

1. What inspired you to be an author?
I’ve always liked writing stories. Even when I was little. In sixth grade, we used to get to write stories with our Spelling words and we got to read them to the class. It was my favorite part of school! In high school, I wrote a paper for English class. My teacher liked it so well she showed the principal (it was about being short in a tall world, if you were wondering 😉 ) So basically, I’ve always loved writing. I used to write fanfiction (yes, I did…) and finally I decided to try my hand at writing an original story. I learned about NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month—November.. www.nanowrimo.org ) and I figured why not? Turns out, I was pretty good at it.

2. Where do you draw inspiration for your characters?
All of my books are set in Tennessee, because that’s where I live 😉 I’m fixing to start the sequel to The Afterlife of Lizzie Monroe. It’ll be set in New York City. I’m a bit nervous about that. My characters come from different things: tv, movies, life. I love watching people and wondering what’s their story.

3. If you could choose three of your favorite ice cream flavors in the “Kelly Martin” Neapolitan, what three flavors would you choose?
Hmmm…. That’s a great question! I think I’d choose Butter Pecan, strawberry, and chocolate.

Do you have any questions for me? If so, you can chat on my facebook author page or twitter. I’d love to answer it. – Kelly Martin
