Twenty-one year old Grayson Alexander finally breaks away from an abusive relationship and finds herself free for the first time in three years. Determined to enjoy her new-found freedom, Grayson is intent on sticking with ‘no strings attached’ relationships—one-night stands, and steamy sex.
But she didn’t plan on Derrick.
Her attraction to the sexy man in uniform quickly turns into an unhealthy relationship. They both try to resist the pull, but neither can stay away. When tragedy strikes, Grayson realizes it’s now or never—walk away or make it work.
This fairly well-written book is not my usual genre but it kept my attention throughout, as the author knows how to weave a story. New Adult books are about discovery and learning about one’s self, and rarely is that ever done well through casual sex, as our main character discovers. But instead of really learning her lesson, as I’d hope, she makes several very poor decisions which lead her into just about losing the man she “loves.” Grayson’s story is full of what-not-to-do in life, but one would do better to just avoid the stupid situations to begin with.
